Tesla says severe weather preparation features can even automatically charge the battery when outages are forecast.

Of course, it's not cheap. Installation costs can be significant, and it works best when properly matched to your home’s energy use. It is not a magic money-printing box attached to your wall.

But for households serious about reducing carbon emissions, improving energy resilience and making better use of renewable power, it is a strong option worth exploring.

The real appeal of Powerwall is not just the sleek design or the famous badge on the front. It is the idea of energy independence.

Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus expandable power station with independently solar-chargeable battery packs for on-site energy

The summer holiday season is often prime time for renovation work, DIY projects and home improvements. More often than not, there's an irritating lack of power on site. 

So, what's the ideal solution? The Jackery 2000 Plus power station with 2042 watt hours, which can be gradually expanded to 12 kWh with up to five battery packs of 2 kWh each. With 3000 watts of output power and eight connections, it also provides enough energy for electrical devices such as drills, grinders and saws.

As a result, the Explorer 2000 Plus is eminently sustainable with 4,000 complete charge and discharge cycles (to 70%) offering a service life of over 10 years with daily use. Also, the power station is especially mobile due to its nifty trolley format with two tires and an integral aluminium pull-out handle.
